International celebration of the world’s indigenous peoples – 2024

This year, on the occasion of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, the national conference led by the indigenous youths called “Youth Voices for the Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” under the theme “Challenges of Adiwasin” was held on 10.08.2024 at Morabedda Thuru Sewana in Dambana Indigenous Village. The problems of indigenous youth were mainly discussed there and the aim is to create a group of young indigenous activists from among them and establish a Youth Club.

It was successfully held under the leadership of Vanaspati, Uruwarige Vannialattan and with the participation and blessings of other clan leaders.

Acted Sri Lanka, 3Zero House, Green Movement of Sri Lanka and FIAN Sri Lanka organizations provided partnership support for this with the organization of Adivasi Jana Uruma Kendraya.

இலங்கையில் நல்ல உணவைப் பற்றி
