THE SECOND PHASE OF THE INTERVIEWS CONDUCTED WITH THE KEY INFORMANTS OF THE RURAL PEOPLE AND SELECTED VILLAGE OFFICIALS

In parallel with the survey conducted in 10 selected districts of Sri Lanka in order to establish the right to food through knowledge generation and advocacy, the second phase of the interviews conducted with the key informants of the rural people and selected village officials in the divisions of Sri Lanka was selected and conducted in 4 districts.

Accordingly 16 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held on 13th July at Thulana Grama Niladhari Division of Kabithigollawa Divisional Secretariat of Anuradhapura District. 21 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held on 14th July at Theravil Grama Niladhari Division, Pudhukudiyiruppu Divisional Secretariat, Mullaitivu District. 16 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held on 15th July at Veppankulam Grama Niladhari Division, Musali Divisional Secretariat, Mannar District. 22 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held on 16th July at Kinnaiyadi Grama Niladhari Division, Valachchenai Divisional Secretariat, Batticaloa District.

In these discussions conducted in 04 districts on a number of issues related to poverty and food security, basic data was collected to establish community-based projects that will ensure the food security of the people.
